Straightaway & Narrow’s Admitting Department is designed to be a non-judgmental, first line of contact for individuals seeking treatment for substance use disorders. Individuals are sorted and assessed for admission eligibility to Straight & Narrow according to specific criteria and guidelines, in compliance with DMHAS guidelines and agency licensure. Our Central Intake office provides access to the following programs/levels of upkeep:

- 3.5 Long-term Inpatient
- 3.1 Halfway House
- 2.1 Intensive Outpatient
- 1 Outpatient
All potential clients are blocked out for admission eligibility. Straight And Narrow Rehabilitation This may be done in the form of an interview conducted by an admissions counselor or as a revaluation of a prior assessment from a referrer. Screening interviews may be conducted in person, via phone, or through secure video conference with one of our staff. Client’s screening, along with medical certification will be jointly reviewed by our Admissions staff and Medical staff. The client is assessed for the appropriate level of care as determined using an ASAM level of care standards. Funding eligibility is determined upon completion of the DASIE (DAS Income Eligibility and Initiative Eligibility). Clients can then be provided an admission date based on bed availability at the time of programming. You do not need medical insurance to be eligible for treatment. We offer treatment at no cost to those individuals who qualify for eligible funding sources.

- ASAM Level I Standard Outpatient, requiring attendance one time per week.
- ASAM Level II.1 Intensive Outpatient, requiring attendance three evenings per week.
Outpatient services are available to any adult who is trying to maintain sobriety or who is seeking an assessment and/or treatment for a substance abudependenceion.
Clients may be self-concerned, referred by another social service agency, the criminal justice system or by an Intoxicated Drivers Resource Center.

Anyone seeking outpatient substance abuse services is given an individual assessment prior to commencing treatment. This assessment gives the client an opportunity to discuss the problems he/she is experiencing with a counselor who is trained to help the client get a treatment plan specific to his/her needs. The length and intensity of treatment are determined by individual need and the treatment goals that the client wishes to attain.

Case management and relapse prevention services are included. Attendance at AA/NA meetings is strongly encouraged and in some instances, may be a treatment requirement. All clients submit to random urinalysis testing for substances of misuse.
He Adult Medical Day Care Center was established in 1987, primarily to provide outpatient care services to those who have special medical needs, and now serves up to 3customersts daily.

Daily nursing and medical supervision, group and individual drug and alcohol counseling, pastoral care, massage therapy, health education classes, dietary counseling and case management services are simply some of the many services available at the Medical Day Care. Assistance is also available in accessing medical benefits and getting referrals to clinics that offer specialized treatment.
Straightawayht & Narrow provides transportation to and from the Medical Day Care Center for clients within a 25-mile radius of the center.

Transportation is too available for doctor, clinic and social service appointments during the hours of operation of the Medical Day Care, from 8:00 a.m. To 4:00 p.m. A light breakfast is provided daily, as is lunch, and clients may participate in a variety of indoor and outdoor activities, including pictures, picnics, physical sports and arts and crafts. Guest speakers are invited to speak to the clients in the Medical Day Care on a regular footing.
